SCOPE
- The IPCS is developed to meet the qualification and certification requirements for NDT personnel in accordance with ISO 9712:2012.
- Certification under this system comfirms the individuals general competence in NDT.
- The certification does not authorize the individual to operate, authorization must be given in writing by the employer.
- Employers are responsible for ensuring the certified personnel receive any job-specific training and verification of knowledge in relevant codes, standard, procedures and equipment.
- The IPCS defines the methods, technigues and levels of certification for NDT personnel, based on the applicable codes, standard and regulations.

CERTIFICATION
Level 1 NDT personnel are qualified to perform NDT according to written instructions under the supervision of Level 2 or Level 3 personnel. They may set equipment, conduct tests, record results, but are not responsible for selecting test methods or interpreting results.
Level 2 NDT personnel are competemt to perform and supervise NDT according to extablished procedures. They can select suitable techniques, define testing limitations, interpret results and provide guidance to Level 1 personnel.
Level 3 NDT personnel are responsible for leading and managing all NDT operations. They have advances knowledge of materials, processes and product technologies, enabling them to develop and validate NDT procedures, interpret standards and provide expert technical guidance across all levels.
